In a society that seeks to find who is to blame it is human nature to label the one as the victim and the other as the perpetrator. It is these very labels that define who are to blame. This course explores why this is not that simple when working in the area of domestic violence. Working with victims and perpetrators of violence is a complex and multidimensional field. In this course you will be challenged; to understand both the perpetrator and the survivor of violence, to be presented with tools with which one can counsel more effectively with survivors of abuse, perpetrators of abuse and children of abusive parents.
