Service Description

In Couple Counselling Skills we will continue by looking at the couple from these two approaches, as well as the counsellor’s role in the counselling relationship. Understanding the intricate inner workings of one person is daunting enough, adding another person into the room adds to the complexity of the interpersonal space we call “relationship”. This course will consider the shift from working with individual clients to the couple’s relationship. Through the lens of systemic enquiry you will explore the knowledge, skills and processes of couples therapy. As you learn to assesses the dynamics at play in relationships you will be empowered to deepen your understanding of your own interpersonal relationships. You will be challenged to reflect on your assumptions, beliefs and values in your personal relationships and how this can influence the therapeutic process.
