From the system’s perspective, a family member cannot be fully understood in terms of the individual’s inner world and his/her experience of this. Systemic Family Therapy is primarily interested in the flexibility and changes in the client’s significant relationships, and in their experience of themselves in relationships with others. It thereby introduces a dimension of change at the level of their primary relationships in an attempt to facilitate change at this interpersonal level.  It is accepted that a difference at this level can affect their experience and make a difference for the family as a whole. This training is experiential and interactive in nature, with skill practice sessions facilitating self awareness.

Please note

  • A minimum requirement to attend this training is the Basic Counselling Skills 1 and 2 trainings or a recognized Basic Counselling skills training.
  • Recognition of non FAMtrac trainings will be considered on an individual basis.
